The 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has declared that he is not for sale after Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano state left the party.
Kwankwaso made this declaration on Friday while speaking to
supporters immediately after Governor Yusuf’s exit from the NNPP.
Recall that Yusuf on Friday officially resigned
from the NNPP, citing protracted internal crises and legal disputes that he
said have weakened the party’s cohesion nationwide.
Reacting, the leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, said he
is committed to his political ideals, declaring that he would not compromise
his principles for personal gain.
According to the former Kano state governor, his
long-standing political struggle had always been aimed at the emancipation of
ordinary Nigerians.
“I’m not for sale. Our political convictions keep me
grounded. If I were in it for personal gain, I would have taken the easy route
and you would be looking for me elsewhere, not in this place,” he said.
