The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has renamed his political support organisation from Tinubu/Barau Organisation to Tinubu, Abba, Barau Organisation following the formal welcome of Kano State Governor, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, into the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The announcement was made during a ceremony at the Kano Government House, where Senator Barau received Governor Yusuf and his supporters into the APC amid a large and enthusiastic crowd.
Addressing the gathering, Barau called on his followers and promoters to fully support the governor for the accelerated development of Kano State.He highlighted the crowd's strong response: when he chanted "Nigeria," they replied "Sai Tinubu," and when he said "Kano," the response was "Sai Abba Gida-Gida."
This display of unity and backing for both President Bola Tinubu and Governor Yusuf led directly to the renaming of the various groups promoting his political vision.
Senator Barau, who entered politics more than three decades ago, reiterated that his sole drive has always been to serve the people of Kano State and Nigeria.
"By the grace of Allah (SWT), I have remained steadfast in that mission, and I will continue to work for the unity, progress and development of Kano State and the country," he said.
He also reaffirmed his total loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, assuring the President of his unwavering support for the Renewed Hope Agenda. "I want to reassure the President and Commander-in-Chief... of my unalloyed commitment to the ideals of the Renewed Hope Agenda, as we work together to take our country to the next level, where governance truly works for all," Barau declared.
The development signals a major political consolidation in Kano State following Governor Yusuf's recent defection from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to the APC.
The move strengthens the ruling party’s position in the state, with key figures including former Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and Senator Barau now aligned with the governor under the APC banner.
The renamed organisation reflects growing momentum behind President Tinubu, Governor Yusuf, and Senator Barau as the APC seeks to solidify its dominance in Kano ahead of future political contests.
