Former Secretary to the State Government of Rivers State, Tammy Danagogo, has reacted to the invitation extended to him by the Nigeria Police Force over alleged plot to assassinate the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike.
Danagogo informed the police that he was out of town and
could not honour the invitation on Thursday, 15th January, 2026.
The Intelligence Response Team, IRT, of the Force
Intelligence Department in Abuja had directed Danagogo to appear before it on
Thursday.
The former Rivers State SSG was invited over a leaked
telephone conversation with a Port Harcourt-based Pastor, Tambari Joseph
Gbeneol, where both men allegedly plotted Wike’s assassination.
In the phone conversation, both men allegedly planned to
import assassins from Israel to carry out the act.
Danagogo was invited to questioning and to clear his name.
However, the former SSG through his lawyers, Danagogo, Oputa
&o Associates, urged the police to reschedule the invitation to a further
date.
Danagogo’s response, seen by DAILY POST on Wednesday, was
signed by Sir I. O. Nwodoh, Esq, on behalf of Danagogo, Oputa &o
Associates, and addressed to the Commissioner of Police, IRT, Guzape District,
FCT.
The notice reads: “Letter of Invitation: REF. NO: CR:
3000/FID /IRT/ABJ/ ADM/ vOL. 9/57
“The above subject matter refers. The attention of our Chief
Dr. T. W. Danagogo has been drawn to your letter under reference after your
service on us yesterday at about 18:00 hours and upon reaching our Chief Dr. T.
w. Danagogo we regret to inform you that he is out of town and may not be
available at your slated Thursday 15th January 2026 appointment.
“Consequently, we crave your kind indulgence to have the
appointment re-scheduled for Monday the 26th day of January 2026 for the
interview.”
