Super Eagles striker, Akor Adams, has left the team’s camp following their 4-0 win over Mozambique in the last 16 of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
This was confirmed in an update shared on the team’s
official X page.
The short statement confirmed that Adams was granted
permission to be with his mother who has been hospitalized.
It read: “Akor Adams has been granted permission to leave
camp to go be with his mum, who was hospitalised yesterday.
“We’re sending prayers and strength to him and wishing his
mum a quick recovery.”
Despite receiving the news before Nigeria took on the
Mambas, Akor went ahead to start the game and scored the last goal.
It remains to be seen if the Sevilla striker will return in
time for their quarter-final clash against either DR Congo or Algeria on
Saturday.
