The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has inaugurated its North-East Zonal Congress Committee in a move aimed at strengthening its organisational structure, deepening internal democracy, and advancing its vision for national renewal.
The ceremony took place in Gombe State on January 11, 2026, and was presided over by Dr. Muhammad S. Muhammad under the direction of the party's National Leadership.
In a communique issued at the event and signed by ADC National Chairman, Hon. Nafiu Bala Gombe, the inauguration was described as a critical step toward building stronger party structures and guaranteeing transparent, credible congresses throughout the North-East zone.
Key appointments ratified during the event include:Engr. Mrs. Patience Alex, appointed Chairperson of the North-East Zonal Congress Committee
Mr. Abayomi Adekunle – inaugurated as Chairman of the Zonal Appeal Committee
The communique also contained a strong appeal to several prominent Nigerian political figures to join the ADC and support its mission of rebuilding and repositioning the country.

Governor Bala Mohammed (Bauchi State)
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri (Adamawa State)
Former Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki
Former President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan
Governor Seyi Makinde (Oyo State)
Governor Alex Otti (Abia State)
Senate President Godswill Akpabio
The party stated that the experience, leadership qualities, and patriotism of these individuals would be vital in forging national unity and progress.
Chairman Nafiu Bala Gombe reiterated the ADC's commitment to providing a credible, inclusive, and progressive political platform focused on good governance, national cohesion, and sustainable development for all Nigerians.
The party further emphasised its ongoing efforts to mobilise citizens across all regions behind a new political direction based on accountability, equity, and the collective ambition of making Nigeria great again.
