Ajara Lasisi, the Nigerian actress known for her roles in Yoruba cinema, has been hospitalised as she battles a serious, undisclosed illness.
The veteran actress, affectionately known as ‘Aunty Ajara’
to fans and colleagues, is reportedly in a critical state.
The news came to light through a heartfelt public appeal
made by fellow actress Ronke Oshodi-Oke on social media.
In an Instagram post, she revealed that Aunty Ajara’s health
is deteriorating rapidly despite exhaustive medical efforts and significant
financial expenditure on her treatment.
Ronke also stressed the urgency of the moment, stating that
continued financial assistance is vital to sustain her care.
“Please, we need help. Ajara’s health condition has become
more critical despite all the efforts so far. So much has already been spent on
her treatment, with generous support from kind-hearted celebrities, actors, and
individuals – yet the situation is getting worse,” she wrote.
“At this point, we urgently need more financial assistance
to keep her fighting. Any amount, any support, any share can make a difference.
Please help us save a life.
Thank you, and God bless.”
