Safiya Mamman-Jemitola, widow of Chris Jemitola, an ex-aide-de-camp (ADC) to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has raised the alarm over the invasion of her matrimonial home by some police officers and hoodlums in the guise of serving court processes.
Mamman-Jemitola alleged that the officers were led to the
Abuja residence by Caleb Jemitola, son of her late husband.
In a series of posts published via X on Monday
evening, Mamman-Jemitola said the men did not identify themselves but claimed
they arrived with a court bailiff to serve processes.
Jemitola’s widow said the men, accompanied by police
officers, forcefully broke down security doors to gain access to the property.
“Men from the Nigeria Police Force (FID, JPU) broke into my
matrimonial home under the guise of trying to serve me a court process,” she
wrote.
“They broke down my gate, front door and other security
doors leading to my matrimonial home.
“They claim they came with a court bailiff. All these men
came without identifying themselves.
“To the Nigeria Police @PoliceNG , how many of your men are
required to serve a widow who has not had a moment’s rest to grief? This is the
fourth time policemen are being used to harass and intimidate me.
“My life has been under threat by Mr. Caleb Jemitola and his
accomplices, as well as men from the Nigeria Police.”
Mamman-Jemitola published videos showing the men, who were
accompanied by police officers, forcefully breaking down doors at the
residence.

In February, Jemitola passed on after collapsing at the IBB
golf club in Asokoro, Abuja.
The retired major general was pronounced dead at the
hospital.
Jemitola served as ADC to Obasanjo from 2003 to 2007 as a
colonel. He also served as director of public relations of the Nigerian Army.
