Troops Repel Terrorist Drone Attack in Borno, Rescue Benue Kidnapped Victims

 


Nigerian Army troops under Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) successfully thwarted a terrorist drone assault on their Forward Operating Base (FOB) at Molai in Delwa village, Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State, on December 16.


A military source at Army Headquarters disclosed that terrorists deployed four armed drones carrying explosives, but vigilant troops neutralised all threats. 


Ongoing exploitation efforts are underway to locate the drones' launch site and eliminate those responsible.


Troops in Sectors 2, 3, and 4 of OPHK continue aggressive offensives as part of Operation Desert Sanity IV to degrade terrorist capabilities in the North-East.


In separate operations on December 16, troops from Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) raided criminal hideouts and an illegal mining site in the Rafin Bauna and Gero mountains of Plateau State, apprehending three suspects.


Recovered items included a fabricated rifle, one round of 7.62mm special ammunition, a generator, three shovels, and water pipes.


 The suspects and seized materials are in custody pending further investigation.Additionally, troops under Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) rescued a kidnapped victim in Yelewata, Guma Local Government Area of Benue State. 


The victim had been abducted from his shop in Gidan Waya, Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, on December 14. 


The kidnappers fled and abandoned him upon spotting approaching troops.The Nigerian Army reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to sustained operations against terrorists, bandits, and all forms of criminality across various theatres, urging the public to provide timely intelligence to support these efforts.
