Troops Arrest Four Suspected ISWAP Informants in Adamawa State

In a significant blow to terrorist networks in Nigeria's North East, troops from Operation Hadin Kai apprehended four individuals suspected of serving as informants for the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) during clearance operations in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The arrests occurred around 6:30 p.m. on December 30, 2025, in the Garaha and Kakara areas of Hong LGA. Acting on intelligence tips, the soldiers collaborated with local hunters to detain the suspects.

The individuals have been named as Chollu Alhaji, Malam Bako Abubakar, Naftali Gabriel, and Madaiba Joseph.

Security sources allege that the suspects supplied critical intelligence to ISWAP militants, enabling a deadly attack on Dubang village in Hong LGA on December 29, 2025, which resulted in the deaths of several residents.

The detained individuals are currently held by the Theatre Prosecution Section and are under investigation as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist support structures in the region.
