Police to start investigating Adamawa law student’s death

The Adamawa State Police Command has launched an investigation into the death of a 27-year-old law student, Ojajuni Ayomiposi, at the Nigerian Law School, Yola Campus.

In a statement released on Sunday night, the command’s spokesman, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said Ayomiposi, an indigene of Ondo State, was found unconscious after jumping over the school fence.

“The Adamawa State Police Command confirms the report of an unfortunate incident involving a 27-year-old student of the Nigerian Law School, Yola Campus, identified as Ojajuni Ayomiposi,” the statement read.

According to the police, on December 6, 2025, at about 11:30 am, Ojajuni returned to the campus in a tricycle, visibly staggering, and jumped over the fence into the hostel premises. A security guard later found him vomiting and unconscious.

He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was admitted but later pronounced dead while receiving treatment.

His body has been deposited at the hospital mortuary for autopsy, as investigations continue.

Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, has ordered a thorough probe to determine the circumstances surrounding Ojajuni’s death.

This is the first time Nigerian law school, Yola campus, will record the death of a student since the school was established close to 20 years ago.
