In a major boost to security in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area, the council chairman, Mr. Chijioke Ezugwu, on Thursday formally received over 50 police officers deployed to the newly constructed Divisional Police Headquarters located at Camp, Nkpologu, in the Adada development centre.
Ahead of the officers’ arrival, the chairman personally provided essential items to ensure their immediate comfort, including 50 mattresses, 50 chairs, pillows, buckets, and other household necessities.
The ultra-modern police facility had earlier been comprehensively renovated and upgraded by the council administration. The project included the installation of solar-powered streetlights (60–70 stands), construction of a paved access pathway to the six-block complex, and the reticulation and upgrading of the station’s borehole into a modern water system.
With the commissioning of this fourth Divisional Police Headquarters – one in each of the council’s four development centres, Uzo-Uwani is now regarded as one of the most policed and secure local government areas in Enugu State, creating a safer environment for residents and businesses alike.
In addition to the security infrastructure, Chairman Ezugwu has recently overseen massive road rehabilitation works across the council, including:
- Ozzi-Edem–Nrobo–Ezikolo–Abbi–Nimbo road
- Nkpologu–Uvuru–Ukpata–Adaba–Nkume–Umulopka road
- Obimo–Nkpologu–Ukpabi–Nimbo–Opanda–Adani road
- Roads leading to Akpugo and Nkpunator communities
