OSGF Flags Off 1-Gov Cloud System for Full Digital Transformation of Govt Processes

The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) has reaffirmed its commitment to fully digitizing records and administrative processes, aligning with the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan (FCSSIP 2025) to enhance digital governance, operational efficiency, and transparency.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, gave the assurance during the flag-off ceremony of the 1-Government (1-Gov) Cloud Enterprise Content Management System (ECMS) in Abuja on December 23, 2025.

As the central coordinating body for government policies and programs, Akume emphasized that the ECMS will equip the OSGF with a secure, integrated platform for managing official records, workflows, and inter-ministerial communications.

He noted that the system will significantly improve timeliness, accuracy, and decision-making processes.

The event was led by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, who formally flagged off the initiative.

She commended Akume and the OSGF management for embracing the ECMS, describing it as a critical step toward digitizing workflows and strengthening accountability in public service delivery.

Walson-Jack highlighted the limitations of paper-based systems, particularly for an office tasked with coordinating Federal Executive Council (FEC) activities and frequent engagements with Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

She stressed that traditional methods can no longer meet the demands for speed and precision in modern governance. With the ECMS deployed on the One Gov Cloud platform, she explained, records will be more secure, easily traceable, and readily accessible.

The system enables electronic approvals, process automation, streamlined workflows, and enhanced overall performance across the federal civil service.

The launch marks a major milestone in Nigeria's push toward e-governance, aimed at reducing bureaucracy, minimizing errors, and fostering greater transparency in government operations.
