Lagos LG Chairman Empowers 500 Residents with ₦100,000 Each


Egbe-Idimu LCDA Chairman Marks 100 Days in Office with Empowerment ProgrammeIn a bid to support small-scale businesses and alleviate economic challenges, Prince Idris Balogun, Chairman of Egbe-Idimu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos State, has launched a cash transfer scheme disbursing ₦100,000 to each of 500 selected residents.


The initiative was announced during an event celebrating the chairman's first 100 days in office, which also featured the distribution of work tools and starter packs including sewing machines, hair dryers, tablets, and makeup kitsto thousands of attendees.


Balogun described the cash grants as targeted empowerment to enable beneficiaries to invest in their preferred petty trades, fostering self-reliance among residents.


The programme drew large crowds, with participants dressed in colourful aso-ebi, highlighting community support for the administration's early achievements.


This move aligns with broader efforts by local leaders in Lagos to provide direct financial relief amid ongoing economic pressures.
