The Kebbi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended the Chairman of Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area, Alhaji Dahiru Nayaya Ambursa, from the party with immediate effect.
The suspension was communicated through a letter dated December 29, 2025, signed by the Kebbi Central Zonal Vice Chairman, Abubakar Bello.
The party cited credible reports of misuse of office and engagement in activities that undermine, ridicule, embarrass, and disunite the APC.
These actions are deemed detrimental to the party's interests and unity, in violation of Article 21(2)(ii) of the APC Constitution (2022 as amended).During the suspension period, Ambursa is barred from entering any APC office.
The party warned that further similar conduct could lead to harsher penalties, including possible expulsion.Birnin Kebbi, as the state capital's local government area, holds significant political weight in Kebbi State.
Observers note that the move reflects ongoing efforts by the APC leadership to enforce discipline amid internal tensions and ahead of future political activities.
No immediate response has been issued from Ambursa regarding the allegations. The suspension takes effect immediately as internal party processes continue.
