FCT Police Arrests Man Planning to Supply 1,000 Rounds of Ammunition to Bandits


Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command have arrested a 32-year-old man, Ahmed Abubakar, from Gusau, Zamfara State, for allegedly attempting to procure 1,000 rounds of ammunition for bandits operating in Zamfara.


The suspect, who resides in Anguwan Dodo, Gwagwalada Area Council, was apprehended on December 7, 2025, following credible intelligence.In a statement signed by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, preliminary investigations revealed that Abubakar was in communication with one Yusuf Mohammed with the intent to purchase the ammunition.


Further findings showed that the suspect was acting on the instructions of his uncle, Ahmed Yakubu (male), a suspected key accomplice who is currently at large. 


Yakubu allegedly sent Abubakar to buy and transport the ammunition to criminal elements in their home area in Zamfara State.


The suspect is presently in police custody, while efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing accomplice and dismantle the syndicate.


The FCT Police Command reiterated its commitment to making the nation’s capital crime-free and assured residents of their safety.
