Armed bandits killed a driver and targeted passengers in an ambush on the Galadimawa–Tumburku Road in Giwa Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
According to reports from security sources, the attack took place around 8:40 p.m. on December 16, when unidentified gunmen blocked the road and fired indiscriminately at vehicles.The assailants focused on a Volkswagen Golf car carrying four passengers.
The driver, whose name has not yet been released, was shot and later pronounced dead at a local hospital.The passengers, Rabiu Lawal (30), Binta Salisu (40), Balkisu Yahaya (30), and Karima Yusuf (40), were rescued and safely evacuated from the scene. Family members of the deceased have been notified.
Security forces, working with partner agencies, have stepped up operations to locate and arrest those responsible, as investigations continue.
Local residents are advised to stay vigilant and promptly report any suspicious movements to authorities.
