Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have killed two terrorists and recovered weapons during a successful ambush in the Shettimari general area of Konduga Local Government Area, Borno State.
The operation, conducted under Operation Desert Sanity V, was executed by a specialized ambush team in the early hours of Thursday, according to security sources.
The troops intercepted the terrorists at their crossing point around 1:20 a.m. and immediately engaged them in a fierce exchange of fire.
Two terrorists were neutralized on the spot, while the remaining fighters fled in disarray.Following the encounter, soldiers conducted an immediate sweep of the area and recovered two Rocket-Propelled Grenade (RPG) bombs and one AK-47 magazine loaded with 23 rounds of 7.62mm x 39mm special ammunition.
There were no casualties on the side of the Nigerian Army troops, who subsequently repositioned and continued their mission.
