In a major offensive against insurgent hideouts in Nigeria's North East, troops from Operation Hadin Kai have destroyed several terrorist enclaves and recovered weapons during a ground operation codenamed Operation Desert Sanity V in the Sambisa Forest, Borno State.
Security sources informed Zagazola that the operation commenced around 10:30 a.m. on December 30, 2025.
Combined forces from the 21 Special Armoured Brigade and 26 Task Force Brigade, supported by volunteer civilian joint task force members, advanced from the Harbour area toward multiple targeted locations deep within the notorious forest.
The key objectives included the Ukuba axis, a terrorist camp behind Ukuba, as well as Parisu, Somalia Camp, and Njimiya areas.
The operation represents a continued effort to degrade Boko Haram and ISWAP remnants in one of their primary strongholds, disrupting their logistical and operational capabilities in the region.
