Akpabio Offers Automatic Jobs to Sons of Fallen Police Escort Killed in Convoy Accident

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has pledged automatic employment opportunities for the two sons of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Hussani Ibrahim, his dedicated police escort who tragically died in a road accident involving a petrol tanker that rammed into the Senate President's convoy on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Sunday.

Akpabio made the announcement during Tuesday's Senate plenary session, where he briefed senators on the incident and described the late DSP Ibrahim a courageous and fearless officer as someone who deeply valued service.

The officer, who had been part of Akpabio's security detail since 2023 and was nearing retirement, was buried according to Islamic rites.Expressing profound sympathy, Akpabio extended condolences to the bereaved family, the Inspector-General of Police, and the Nigeria Police Force.

He emphasized that the employment offer serves as a personal gesture to support the family and honor Ibrahim's sacrifice.

In the same session, the Senate paid tribute to Alhaji Ibrahim Tukur, a loyal driver of 25 years to Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho (representing Kogi East), who also recently passed away.

Senators observed a minute's silence for both deceased individuals and offered prayers for the repose of their souls.
