Ozonna, the son of Charles Soludo, the governor of Anambra, has responded to the criticism he often gets from some Nigerians on social media.
In a recent interview with content creator Goodybagg, Ozonna acknowledged that his “visibility and
confidence naturally attract negative attention,” but he remains unfazed by it.
He asserted that he will not change himself to please others.
“I think it just kind of comes with it. Anybody that is
visible and confident, you are going to get hate. I am not going to apologise
to them for not liking me, I am going to keep being myself,” he said.
“I do not do this to be liked by everyone because I have a
very strong sense of myself and I am not willing to apologise for that.
So I am not going to stop doing anything just because someone does not like me.
We are billions of people in the planet and we are all different.”
The interview follows a recent wave of online reactions
Ozonna sparked in September after participating in the viral ‘What’s
in your bag’ challenge.
While many social media users praised his authenticity for
openly sharing the contents of his bag, the reveal also led to criticism and
invasive speculation, with some users making negative comments about his
parenting and sexuality based on the personal items he carried.
