Super Eagles midfielder, Alex Iwobi, was speechless as he drew attention to the poor condition of the team’s hotel in Rabat, Morocco, ahead of Nigeria’s 2026 World Cup qualifying playoff against Gabon.
In a video post circulating on social media, Iwobi shared
images highlighting the poor state and surroundings of the Super Eagles’
accommodation in Morocco.
His post has prompted concerns about the welfare and
preparation standards of the Nigerian national team ahead of the Gabon clash on
Thursday.
Recall that Nigeria booked their place in the playoff round
after finishing in second position behind South Africa in Group C.
The Super Eagles will face Gabon in the playoffs semi-final
tie, and the winner will face DR Congo or Cameroon in the final.
The winner will guarantee a place in the intercontinental
playoffs scheduled for March 2026, where a ticket to the FIFA World Cup in the
USA, Canada, and Mexico will be up for grabs.
