President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sworn in Dr. Bernard Mohammed Doro and Mr. Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh as ministers at a brief ceremony in the Council Chamber of the State House, Abuja, just before the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting commenced.
Dr. Doro, a pharmacist and lawyer from Plateau State, replaces Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, who vacated the Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction portfolio to become National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
His nomination was confirmed by the Senate in late October.Mr. Udeh, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) from Enugu State, fills the vacancy left by former Minister of Science, Innovation, and Technology Uche Nnaji, who resigned amid certificate forgery allegations. Udeh, previously Enugu State’s Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, had his appointment confirmed by the Senate earlier on Thursday following a brief screening.
The FEC meeting, presided over by President Tinubu, began immediately after a presentation by Finance Minister Wale Edun on the economy’s status.
The session, ongoing at the time of this report, includes Secretary to the Government of the Federation Senator George Akume, Head of Civil Service Mrs. Esther Didi Walson-Jack, Chief of Staff Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, and other cabinet members and special advisers.
