Tinubu, Sultan, Southwest Governors to Attend MUSWEN Assembly

President Bola Tinubu, the Sultan of Sokoto, all six Southwest governors, and Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule will headline the 10th General Assembly of the Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN) on Sunday, November 16, 2025, in Gbongan, Osun State.

Announced Friday in Osogbo by MUSWEN President and NSCIA Deputy President-General (South) Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo, the event, hosted by the Osun State Muslim Community, begins at 10:00 a.m. at Bola Babalakin Hall.

Tinubu serves as Father of the Day, while Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke co-hosts with counterparts: Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Lucky Aiyedatiwa (Ondo), and Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti).

His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, Sultan of Sokoto and NSCIA President-General, is the Special Guest of Honour.

Themed “Nigeria’s Economy: Any Hope For The Masses?”, the assembly features a keynote address by Governor Sule.

Oladejo condemned U.S. President Donald Trump’s redesignation of Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern (CPC), calling it “misplaced,” “unfortunate,” and driven by “ulterior economic and political motives.”

“There is no genocide against Christians in Nigeria,” he insisted. “Both Muslims and Christians suffer from insurgency, but Muslims are the largest victims, as most affected areas, Borno, Yobe, Zamfara, Sokoto, Niger, Kaduna, Adamawa, Kebbi, and Kwara are predominantly Muslim.”
