Serve with fairness, integrity, Ogun CP urges newly promoted officers

The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, has urged newly promoted officers in the command to justify the confidence reposed in them and double up efforts to remain dedicated to duties and serve the people with fairness and integrity.

This was contained in a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, CSP Omolola Odutola, on Monday.

Ogunlowo gave this charge while decorating the newly promoted officers with their new ranks at a ceremony held at the command headquarters, Eleweeran, Abeokuta.

According to the statement, those elevated to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police include Stephen Dapo Ojekunle, Emmanuel T. Falade, Tinuola Juliet Balogun, Gbadamosi Kazeem Babatunde, and Temitope Fapounda.

Nine officers, including Ajayi Moses and Okhuegbe Philip, were promoted to Superintendents of Police (SPs) while several Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs), including Oyebola Oluwatoyin, Alice Adebo, and Ajayi Abimbola, who serves as Secretary to the Commissioner of Police, were confirmed with their second stars.

The CP congratulated the newly promoted officers and expressed appreciation to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, for his steadfast commitment to rewarding hard work and merit through timely promotions.

He noted that the elevation of the officers serves as motivation for others to remain diligent, disciplined, and professionally upright.

Addressing the newly promoted officers, the CP said that “I therefore urge you to see your new ranks as a call to higher responsibility.

“You must justify the confidence reposed in you by demonstrating excellence, integrity, and fairness in the discharge of your duties to make Ogun State and indeed Nigeria safe for all”.

CP Ogunlowo further appealed to members of the public to extend their support and cooperation to the newly promoted officers as they assume higher responsibilities across the state.
