The Senate Committee on Federal Character and Inter-Governmental Affairs has screened 38 nominees appointed by President Bola Tinubu as Chairman and Commissioners of the Federal Character Commission (FCC).
Mrs. Ayo Omidiran from Osun State is nominated as FCC Chairman.During the exercise, lawmakers charged the nominees to uphold fairness, equity, and inclusiveness in federal appointments and resource allocation.
The committee conducted thorough security clearance checks and verified asset declarations.Committee Chairman Senator Allwell Onyeosoh urged the appointees to champion federal character principles and foster balance in Nigeria’s diverse society.
