Sammy West, brother of actress Regina Daniels, has been granted bail and released after days in Abuja police detention.
His arrest on Nov 6 followed charges of assault, theft, and cyberbullying linked to the actress’s marital dispute with Senator Ned Nwoko.
Videos of his release went viral today, with actress Doris Ogala declaring “the gods did it.” Mercy Johnson and Regina’s mother, Rita Daniels, also celebrated.
The family had accused Nwoko of using influence to detain Sammy. Police earlier claimed bail was granted but conditions unmet.
Sammy’s release ends a week of public outcry. As at the time of report, no official statement has been made by Regina yet.
