PRP Slams PDP Factional Chair for Begging Foreign Powers to “Save Nigeria”

The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has fiercely condemned PDP factional National Chairman Kabiru Turaki for urging foreign powers to “save Nigeria” from its internal political crises, describing the statement as reckless, unpatriotic, and a betrayal of national sovereignty.

In a statement issued Thursday, PRP National Chairman Falalu Bello accused Turaki of exhibiting a “slave mentality and inferiority complex” that has no place in Nigerian leadership.

“Inviting foreign powers to intervene in our domestic affairs is an affront to Nigeria’s hard-won independence and an insult to the patriots who sacrificed everything for our sovereignty,” Bello said.

He reminded Turaki that the PRP’s 5th Principle explicitly calls for total liberation from imperialism and neo-colonial influence, insisting that Nigeria’s destiny must be shaped only by Nigerians.

“Nigeria remains a sovereign republic. No matter how heated our internal disagreements, no true leader begs outsiders to come and ‘save’ us.

That era ended in 1960,” the PRP chairman declared. The party demanded an immediate retraction and public apology from Turai, warning that such statements undermine national dignity and play into the hands of those who still view Africa as a playground for foreign manipulation.

“Real patriots solve problems at home, with our own institutions and our own people no matter how imperfect,” Bello added. The PRP further urged all political actors to reject the dangerous habit of running to foreign capitals whenever they lose internal party battles.
