The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday published the latest figures for the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, revealing that 2,316,232 Nigerians have now successfully completed their registration nationwide as of Week 12.
Osun State maintained its dominant position with the highest number of completed registrations at 185,089, followed by Imo (143,386), Kano (132,290), and Sokoto (123,320).
Lagos recorded 109,693 new registrations, while the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Borno closely trailed with 106,855 and 106,376 respectively.
Other notable performers included Kogi (91,573), Jigawa (88,209), Zamfara (84,268), Katsina (80,425), Kaduna (78,282), Kebbi (74,159), Delta (72,311), and Ogun (71,091).
INEC noted that registration remains suspended in Anambra State ahead of the governorship election scheduled for 8 November 2025, in compliance with Section 9(6) of the Electoral Act 2022.
As a result, no new figures were provided for Anambra in this update.Lower registration numbers were recorded in several states, including Rivers (57,251), Adamawa (49,853), Kwara (47,241), Yobe (46,986), Benue (42,557), Bayelsa (38,627), Bauchi (36,166), Ekiti (32,096), Gombe (31,542), Nasarawa (30,348), Ebonyi (28,310), Edo (27,130), Plateau (24,077), Taraba (17,803), Enugu (16,304), Ondo (16,012), Cross River (14,559), and Abia (12,297).
The commission emphasised that the released data covers only fully completed online and physical registrations for Week 12, underscoring its commitment to transparency throughout the CVR process.
Since the exercise resumed on 18 August 2025, South-West states , led by Osun and Lagos , have consistently recorded the highest participation.
However, recent weeks have shown a noticeable surge in northern states, attributed to intensified grassroots mobilisation by community organisations, religious leaders, and local government officials.The Continuous Voter Registration is scheduled to continue until August 2026 ahead of the next general elections.
