Ogun State Fast-Tracks Prosecution of DJ Chicken Over Repeated Road Crashes

The Ogun State Government has vowed to swiftly prosecute popular entertainer Ademola Abiodun, better known as DJ Chicken, for a series of dangerous road crashes, declaring him a “sustained risk” to public safety.

The Ministry of Justice revealed that the latest move follows multiple incidents involving the TikTok star behind the wheel, with authorities citing clear video evidence and what they described as his reckless disregard for road safety.

The first recorded crash occurred on 1 November 2025 in Sagamu, where DJ Chicken allegedly rammed his vehicle into two motorcycles, leaving one rider and a female passenger with serious injuries.

Witnesses say the entertainer showed no remorse, attempted to flee the scene, and was only stopped by angry bystanders. Ogun State Police immediately launched an investigation while prioritising medical treatment and privacy for the victims.

Less than three weeks later, on 23 November 2025, DJ Chicken was involved in another lone-car crash in Lekki, Lagos, which narrowly avoided striking pedestrians.

Officials confirmed this was at least the third crash linked to him in just two months. In a strongly worded statement, the government stressed that while many traffic incidents can be handled civilly, repeated dangerous driving that endangers lives demands criminal accountability.

“Certain road users pose a sustained risk to the public and must face the full weight of the law,” the ministry said, pointing to video footage of at least two of the crashes and DJ Chicken’s “heedless return to the wheel” despite previous incidents.

The Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Oluwasina Ogungbade SAN, has personally directed that the pending Sagamu case be expedited for immediate arraignment.

The ministry confirmed it is working closely with the police to ensure the prosecution moves forward without further delay. As of now, DJ Chicken has yet to publicly respond to the latest developments.
