NSCIA Rejects 'Christian Genocide' Claims as False, Politically Driven Plot

The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) has vehemently denied allegations of a Christian genocide in Nigeria, labeling them “false, dangerous, and politically motivated.”

At a Sunday press conference in Abuja, Secretary-General Prof. Is-haq Oloyede accused Western media, foreign lobbyists, and U.S. politicians of orchestrating a campaign to destabilize Nigeria through fabricated narratives.

He insisted the nation’s violence stems from criminality, poverty, climate-induced migration, and poor governance—not religious persecution.

“There is no Christian terrorism. There is no Muslim terrorism. There is no religious intolerance in Nigeria,” Oloyede declared.

“Our tragedy is poverty, climate change, bad governance, and armed criminals who kill indiscriminately, while some exploit it for geopolitical gain.”

The NSCIA’s statement responds to U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent condemnation of alleged Christian mass killings, in which he directed the Department of War to prepare “fast, vicious, and sweet” action if Nigeria fails to stop them.

Oloyede accused Nigerian separatists and foreign interests of pushing doctored videos and false statistics to provoke punitive U.S. measures, including Nigeria’s redesignation as a “country of particular concern” a label he called a “political tool, not fact-based.

”Urging unity, the NSCIA called on President Trump to provide intelligence and logistics support instead of “smear campaigns,” and appealed to Nigerians to reject divisive narratives.

“Muslims and Christians must stand together against terrorism and criminality only criminals exploit our divisions,” he stressed.

  1. It is because in Nigeria we value mediocrity over meritocracy, otherwise tell me why this jamb unfortunate professor that cannot pronounce english words very well should superintend part of our high education entry point. Well, you guys have come late in this one. Call your islamic jihadists to order and look beyond seeing them as your warriors in the bush and bring them to answer for their crimes. It is now a world affair that there is genocide of Christians in Nigeria. This is true and you people know it.
