The Nigerian military on Wednesday morning formally handed over all the abducted students of Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School (GGCSS), Maga, to Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, after a successful rescue operation.
The girls, who were kidnapped by armed bandits last week, were received in good health with no casualties or injuries reported.
The brief handover ceremony, held in the early hours in Birnin Kebbi, was conducted by the Theatre Commander, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Major General Warrah Idris, on the directive of the Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Muhammed Matawalle.
Following medical checks and debriefing, the rescued students are expected to be reunited with their families later today.
