Katsina Secures N489.4bn in Private Investments at 2025 Economic Summit – Gov Radda

Katsina State has recorded a major breakthrough in its economic drive, attracting over N489.4 billion in private-sector investment pledges during the 2025 Katsina Economic and Investment Summit.

Governor Dikko Umar Radda described the outcome as a “resounding vote of confidence” in his administration’s policies, saying the summit marked a turning point in repositioning Katsina as one of Nigeria’s leading economic destinations. In a statement, Governor Radda said:

“Yesterday was a defining moment for Katsina State. The successful conclusion of the 2025 Economic and Investment Summit delivered over N489.4 billion in firm private-sector commitments clear proof that our reforms are yielding results."

The governor attributed the influx of investor interest to deliberate efforts over the past two years to restore security and build a business-friendly ecosystem.

He highlighted key security initiatives, including the deployment of more than 2,500 Community Watch Corps personnel, the establishment of 9,747-member village and district security committees, and the reopening of markets that had been closed for over six years.

On the governance front, Governor Radda pointed to far-reaching reforms such as the introduction of the Treasury Single Account (TSA), a digital one-stop shop for business registration, the Katsina Geographic Information System (KATGIS) for transparent land administration, a dedicated Directorate of ICT, and mechanized agricultural centres with online tractor-booking services across all 34 local government areas.

Addressing investors directly, he declared:“Katsina is ready, willing, and fully open for business.”Governor Radda expressed gratitude to development partners, including the World Bank, UNDP, and the Minister of State for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr. Yusuf Tanko Sununu, for their support.

Concluding on an optimistic note, he said: “We are just getting started. Insha Allah, greater things lie ahead for Katsina State.”
