Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, on Monday, said he fought battles in the “morning, afternoon, and night” all through his tenure as governor.
Fayose noted that Biodun Oyebanji, Ekiti State’s current
governor, is governing with comfort.
He spoke during the commissioning of the Igbaraodo-Ikogosi
road as part of activities to mark Oyebanji’s third year in office.
Fayose commended Oyebanji for his developmental strides in
the state since he became governor.
He said, “I am only here to celebrate Ekiti with you. You have raised the bar, you have put everybody together, and you have turned this
state into a state of purpose, unity among all of us, irrespective of our
political party.
“I say to you always, I am not a member of your party, and I
will never be. I am a member of the PDP, but I celebrate a Governor who has
shown that there is the capacity to turn around things.
“I used my tenure as governor to fight battles. Morning it
was battle; afternoon, it was battle; and night, it was battle.
“You are riding and doing everything for the Ekiti people in
comfort. If there were no dogs barking during the primary election, you wouldn’t
know the value of God.
“Those dogs on the internet who are not from Ekiti that
would be barking, and I have chosen not to mention their names because when you
mention their names, you are giving them relevance.
“The array of work that you have done speaks for itself. We
are with him, and anybody not backing this governor will be out to shame.”
