The Federal Government has greenlit three policies: the Rewards and Recognition Policy, the Incentive and Consequence Management Policy, and the Civil Service Mentoring Policy, aimed at supercharging productivity and revolutionizing service delivery to Nigerians.
The approval came during a Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting chaired by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, marking a pivotal shift toward a performance-oriented, accountable, and talent-focused public sector.
Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, OON, mni, hailed the policies as cornerstones of staff welfare and value enhancement, a key pillar of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021–2025 (FCSSIP25), fully aligned with the 2021 Public Service Rules (060101–060111).
Praising President Tinubu’s steadfast vision for an Efficient, Productive, Incorruptible, and Citizen-Centric (EPIC) culture, Mrs. Walson-Jack described the approval as proof of the administration’s resolve to honor public servants, celebrate excellence, and groom future leaders.
The Rewards and Recognition Policy creates a dynamic framework to attract, develop, and retain top talent, fostering innovation, excellence, and sustained high performance across institutions.
The Incentive and Consequence Management Policy introduces a fair, transparent system that rewards outstanding results while addressing underperformance with clear consequences and support pathways, ensuring accountability and equity.
The Civil Service Mentoring Policy secures the future by bridging experience gaps, transferring institutional knowledge, and preparing emerging leaders with skills, ethics, and vision — safeguarding continuity amid retirements.
Mrs. Walson-Jack emphasized that these policies lay the foundation for a modern, agile, and empowered Civil Service.
“Your dedication will be seen, excellence celebrated, and growth nurtured,” she assured civil servants.
She reaffirmed her Office’s commitment to building a world-class service that meets Nigeria’s aspirations and powers national progress.
