Member representing Alkaleri-Kirfi Federal Constituency, Hon. Kabiru Yusuf (popularly known as Makaman Duguri), has disclosed that he has invested close to N1 billion in empowerment programmes aimed at uplifting the living standards of his constituents.
Speaking yesterday before thousands of supporters in Bauchi, the lawmaker said the latest phase of the initiative included the distribution of 20 vehicles, 150 motorcycles, 100 sewing machines, 200 water-pumping machines, 100 wheelchairs, and N200 million in direct cash grants.
Beneficiaries cut across party executives from ward to local government levels, APC stakeholders, women and youth groups, the elderly, persons with disabilities, and loyal supporters who worked for his election.
Yusuf urged recipients to put the items and funds to productive use, stressing that the gesture was meant to drive economic growth in Alkaleri and Kirfi local government areas, Bauchi State, and Nigeria at large.
He appealed for patience from constituents whose names did not appear on the current list, assuring them that additional phases of the empowerment programme are already being planned.
Bauchi State APC Chairman, Muhammad Hassan Tilde, who attended the event, described it as the sixth major empowerment programme organised by Hon. Yusuf in just two years, praising his “unmatched commitment” to constituency development.
APC stakeholders from both local governments, Adamu Umar Gokaru (Alkaleri) and Yakubu Yakubu Kirfi (Kirfi), declared that no previous representative in the history of the constituency had delivered as much, urging Makaman Duguri to sustain the tempo.
The event was marked by jubilation as beneficiaries took possession of their items amid cheers and solidarity songs.
