A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Joe
Igbokwe, has slammed former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for “challenging the
rotation of Presidency” between the North and South.
In a post on his Facebook page on Wednesday, the public
commentator claimed that Atiku is violating the principle of rotational
presidency by aspiring to contest against a southerner in 2027.
According to Igbokwe, the South has eight years after former
President Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure.
Igbokwe declared that Atiku may never be elected as Nigerian
President, stressing that the former VP will pay dearly for his actions.
He wrote, “Alhaji Atiku Abubakar will pay dearly for
challenging the rotation of Presidency between Northern and Southern Nigeria
even when he knew quite well that Southern Nigeria will rule for 8 years.
“Going by the political calculations in the landscape he may
never have access to Aso Villa as President till the end of age. I want
Nigerians to take mental notice of this.”
DAILY POST reports that Atiku who is a member of the African
Democratic Congress, ADC, is aspiring to contest the 2027 election against
President Bola Tinubu.
