Governors of the All Progressives Congress, APC, have
resolved to strengthen collaboration between the federal and state governments
to enhance governance and development across the country.
The resolution was part of a communiqué issued at the end of
the Progressive Governors’ Forum, PGF, meeting held in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi
State, from October 16 to 17. The communiqué was read by the forum’s chairman,
Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State.
The meeting, which brought together APC governors from
across Nigeria, focused on reviewing the nation’s socio-economic challenges and
assessing the role of states in driving national development.
The governors also discussed the need for improved
coordination among the three tiers of government to promote effective service
delivery and inclusive governance.
A key highlight of the meeting was the formal reception of
Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, into the APC, bringing the number of
APC-controlled states to 24.
The forum also reviewed ongoing economic and social reforms
across the federation and commended efforts aimed at improving fiscal
stability, food security, power supply, and infrastructure.
The governors reaffirmed their commitment to aligning
state-level initiatives with national development priorities and pledged
continued support for policies aimed at improving citizens’ welfare.
