The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom
Wike, on Wednesday said those who accused him of destabilizing the Peoples
Democratic Party, PDP, have defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Wike said they should commend him for clearing the path by
working for President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Recently, some PDP chieftains like Governor Peter Mbah of
Enugu State and former National Youth Leader of the party, Sunday Udeh-Okoye
defected to the APC.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today last night,
Udeh-Okoye said the Southeast have found a home in the APC.
While in PDP, Udeh-Okoye had wrestled for the position of
the party’s National Secretary with Samuel Anyanwu, a close ally of Wike.
However, Wike said defectors are working together to support
Tinubu’s administration.
Wike spoke at the flag-off of the construction of the main
carriageways of Outer Southern Expressway (OSEX) from Ring Road I Junction to
Ring Road II Junction along Wasa Road, by Shoprite Junction in Apo area of the
FCT.
According to Wike: “It has never been like this before,
whichever party you belong to, all of them have always worked together to
support this administration.
“I’m very happy that very soon I will speak to Nigerians. I
have been watching on daily televisions and social media people who said I want
to destabilize the party. I’m working for APC, and all of them are now in APC.
“So they should commend me for working for where they are
heading to, I should be commended for doing a good job for them.”
