Taraba Assembly Passes Vote of Confidence on Gov Kefas Amid Defection Controversy

The Taraba State House of Assembly has unanimously passed a vote of confidence on Governor Agbu Kefas, praising his outstanding performance and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the state's citizens.

The resolution was endorsed during Thursday's plenary session, with lawmakers highlighting the governor's people-centered policies, efforts in restoring peace, and notable progress in infrastructure and social development throughout Taraba.

Assembly members pointed to marked improvements in security, allowing numerous farmers to safely return to their fields and enhancing agricultural output.

They particularly lauded Kefas for raising the state's minimum wage from N18,000 to N70,000—an action described as groundbreaking and a testament to his focus on workers' well-being.

Further commendations were directed at the governor's programs in education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and infrastructure.

Key highlights included the free basic education policy and the coverage of examination fees for students, both seen as pivotal in expanding access to quality education.

Reaffirming their full support, the legislators expressed absolute trust in Kefas' leadership and his blueprint for maintaining peace, unity, and sustained development in Taraba.
