PSC Launches Whistle-Blowing Policy to Curb Police Recruitment Fraud

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has introduced a whistle-blowing policy to tackle corruption and malpractice in Nigeria Police recruitment, emphasizing its dedication to a transparent, merit-based, and fair selection process.

According to PSC’s Head of Press and Public Relations, Ikechukwu Ani, the policy offers a secure channel for the public to report issues such as bribery, fraud, test result manipulation, document falsification, sexual harassment, impersonation, and other unethical practices.

“The policy empowers citizens to act as watchdogs, ensuring recruitment is free from undue influence,” Ani stated. Reports can be submitted anonymously, though providing contact details may aid investigations.

The PSC guarantees whistle-blower protection under Nigerian law and vows thorough investigations with strict disciplinary and legal consequences for offenders.

The commission called on Nigerians to support its mission to build a professional police force, stating, “Your courage can make the difference.”
