The Lagos State Police Command conducted a raid on a suspected criminal hideout on Godwil Street, Idowu Egba, Isheri Igando Road, apprehending several individuals believed to be part of a syndicate specializing in vehicle theft.
In a video recorded at the scene, a police officer urged residents to stay vigilant and report suspicious individuals in their communities, emphasizing that criminals blend in with ordinary citizens.
“They are not spirits and have no supernatural powers,” the officer stated. “If you see someone in your area without a clear source of income or moving at odd hours, report them.
Some hide behind legitimate businesses to carry out crimes.”The officer called on residents to serve as the “first line of security” by collaborating with law enforcement and providing timely information to prevent criminal activities.
"The police issued a stern warning to criminal groups in Lagos to cease illegal operations, reinforcing that “crime doesn’t pay.”
