Big Brother Naija winner and reality star Phyna has unleashed a scathing public rebuke against the Dangote Group, accusing the conglomerate of profound negligence and insensitivity in the wake of her younger sister Ruth's tragic death.
In a series of raw, emotional Instagram posts, Phyna detailed how the company allegedly failed to fully honor its promises on medical and burial expenses, leaving her family to shoulder significant financial and emotional burdens during their time of grief.
Ruth, Phyna's sister, passed away following a fatal accident, the details of which remain under scrutiny.
She was laid to rest on September 13, 2025, in Ogun State, but the burial day itself became a flashpoint for Phyna's outrage.
According to the star, whose real name is Josephina Otabor, the Dangote Goup ignored frantic calls from the family amid unpaid bills at the mortuary, forcing relatives to cover costs out of pocket.
"Also on Sept 13th, the day of burial, Dangote groups did not pick up all calls made to them from us, as we were told the bills were not paid, but they claim it was, the mortuary was also covered by the family," Phyna wrote in one post, her words dripping with frustration and betrayal.
Phyna further alleged that while Dangote publicly touted covering "all hospital bills" in PR statements, the reality was far narrower: the company footed only the expenses at Lagoon Hospital in Lagos.
The family, she claimed, bore the brunt of costs from Auchi in Edo State to Irrua Specialist Hospital without any reimbursement to date.
"The bills from Auchi down to Irrua were covered by the family; no refund has been made," she stated.
The most incendiary accusation centered on a letter purportedly sent by Dangote Group to Phyna's father later that evening, requesting acknowledgment of funds disbursed for burial expenses.
Phyna described the document as a pre-drafted trap, impersonating her father's voice and pressuring him to sign away further claims.
"This letter that was sent to my dad this evening is really paining me, like @dangotegroup, you killed my sister, do massive PR, una give the girl papa money for burial, una con still by una self write acknowledgement letter impersonating my father and you sent to him to sign, so that una plan of after burial nothing else go stand because by then the man go don sign this letter," she fumed.
In a direct appeal laced with sarcasm and sorrow, Phyna questioned the company's motives: "@dangotegroup, if you needed an acknowledgement letter or receipt for the funds you sent for the burial, you would have kindly asked for the acknowledgement letter from the family, and then we would have provided it. Why typing as my dad? And sending it to him to sign."
She accused the actions of being "well calculated," implying a deliberate strategy to minimize liability post-tragedy.
"Right now, it seems everything was well calculated," she added, hinting at deeper systemic failures during Ruth's treatment.
Phyna's posts, which have garnered thousands of reactions from fans and celebrities alike, culminate in a firm call for accountability.
