PDP Suspends Imo, Abia State Chairmen for Collusion with APC to Sabotage Convention

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Forum of State Chairmen has suspended two of its state chairmen, Austine Nwachukwu of Imo State and Amah Abraham Nnana of Abia State, over allegations of anti-party activities and attempts to undermine the party’s upcoming national convention.

The decision was made during a meeting on Tuesday at the PDP’s Federal Capital Territory secretariat in Abuja, chaired by Edward Percy Masha, the forum’s acting secretary.

The suspensions stem from accusations that Nwachukwu and Nnana collaborated with “external forces” allegedly tied to the All Progressives Congress (APC) to disrupt preparations for the PDP’s national convention, scheduled for November 15–16, 2025.

The forum described the actions of the suspended chairmen as deliberate attempts to derail the party’s efforts to organize a successful convention, which is critical for setting the PDP’s agenda and leadership ahead of future elections.

The PDP has not disclosed specific details of the alleged collusion, but the suspensions signal internal efforts to address disloyalty and maintain party unity as the convention approaches.
