Nigeria to Host First-Ever International Air Show in December 2025

The Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, under the leadership of Minister Festus Keyamo, has unveiled plans for Nigeria’s inaugural International Air Show, set to take place in December 2025 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

The landmark event is poised to showcase Nigeria’s growing aviation prowess and foster global partnerships in the sector.

According to a report by NTA News, President Bola Tinubu is expected to headline the event, joined by high-profile dignitaries from Nigeria and across the globe.

The air show, organized in collaboration with the Nigerian Air Force, will feature a spectacular military parade highlighting the nation’s air power, including demonstrations of cutting-edge aircraft and defense capabilities.

Beyond its military showcase, the event aims to serve as a catalyst for Nigeria’s aviation industry. Domestic airlines will have the opportunity to forge strategic partnerships and secure deals with international carriers, boosting the sector’s competitiveness and supporting economic growth.

“This air show will position Nigeria as a key player in global aviation, showcasing our potential while driving investment and collaboration,” Keyamo said during the announcement.

To ensure widespread participation, organizers have introduced a unique incentive: free train rides for attendees traveling to the event, a move aimed at making the air show accessible to a broad audience.

The air show comes at a time when Nigeria is intensifying efforts to modernize its aviation infrastructure and elevate safety standards, following recent reforms under Keyamo’s ministry.
