The naira continued appreciation against the United States dollar at the official foreign exchange market on Tuesday.
Central Bank of Nigeria official exchange rate data showed
that the Naira strengthened again on Tuesday to N1,463.45 against the dollar,
up from N1,465.29 traded on Monday.
This means that the country’s currency gained N1.8 on a
day-to-day basis at the official FX market on Tuesday.
At the black market, the Naira remained flat at N1,500 per
dollar on Tuesday, the same rate exchanged on Monday.
The development comes as the country’s external reserves
rose further as of October 20th, 2025, to $42.79 billion, up from $42.69
billion recorded on 17th October, according to apex bank data.
Recall that the naira kicked off the week with a significant
gain against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market on Monday.
