Fiery Plateau State clergy, Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo has narrated how Fulani bandits stormed a hospital in a community in the state, kidnapped Christian girls who they took into some rocky area and gang-raped them at gunpoint over eight hours before they were released.
In a video he posted on his Facebook page on Wednesday, Rev.
Dachomo, who is the Regional Chairman for the Church of Christ in Nations,
COCIN, in Barkin Ladi local government area of the state, stated that the
bandits had stormed the hospital with sophisticated weapons including AK-47s,
swords and machetes and abducted the giris who were on admission and dragged
them into the rocks and took turns to rape them.
He, however, said some of the kidnapped girls who were
Muslims were spared the rape ordeal, as only the Christian girls were defiled
and made to go through the horrific experience.
In the video, Rev. Dachomo is seen talking with one of the
victims who narrated what they went through in the hands of the militants and
went on to explain that the bandits stormed the hospital around 8pm on
Saturday, October 17th, and kidnapped the girls who were patients and receiving
treatment at the facility.
According to the clergy, after taking their victims into the
rocks, the Fulani attackers intentionally isolated the Christian girls among
them. They gang-raped them at gunpoint for over eight hours.
“They didn’t touch their fellow members of Islam. They
isolated our Christian girls and raped them for more than eight hours,” he said
in the video.
“The kidnapped girls, including one who was specifically at
the hospital to care for her admitted mother, were forced away to the rocky
areas in the night. There, the militants battered them and raped them at
gunpoint,” he stressed.
“The girls managed to escape or were left behind, crawling
back to the hospital around almost 12 midnight while shouting for help. The
hospital staff and doctors immediately rushed to their aid, providing critical
care that ensured their survival.
“That was another deliberate blueprint to deal with
Christians. The same Fulani jihadists also kidnapped the wife of one of our
brothers, Reverend Zephaniah Mangut, on the same day. This is the life of a
Christian in Nigeria,” he lamented.
