Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus
Keyamo, has commended Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, for dumping the Peoples
Democratic Party, PDP, and joining the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Daily Post reports that Mbah, who was elected on the PDP
platform in the 2023 general elections, announced his defection to the APC on
Tuesday, citing the need to align Enugu with the federal government for faster
development.
Reacting in a post on X, Keyamo described the APC as a
“natural home” for Mbah’s developmental vision, noting that his record of
governance and achievements made the move a fitting one.
“When I came to Enugu a few months ago to launch Enugu Air,
I said it would be a miracle for anyone to beat you in future elections,”
Keyamo said. “Thank God you’ve now joined forces with President Bola Tinubu to
deepen progress and unity in Enugu and the Southeast.”
The minister further described Mbah as the “undisputed
leader of Enugu APC,” assuring him that the decision would strengthen his
political base in the state.
