Seventeen individuals, comprising 14 females and three males, kidnapped on June 19, 2025, in Birdigau village, Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State, were released in Zamfara State on October 3, 2025.
Police operatives promptly responded to the scene, ensuring the victims were safely transported to Ahmed Sani Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital in Gusau for medical examinations under strict security measures.
Hon. Abubakar Imam, Chairman of Gusau Local Government, oversaw the evacuation and medical assessment process.
The victims are set to be reunited with their families in Katsina State following the completion of their medical evaluations.
