The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, has slammed former Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, accusing him of being the major problem of the opposition.
In a statement by the party’s National Publicity Secretary,
Felix Morka, on Sunday, the APC dismissed Tambuwal’s claims that President Bola
Tinubu was working to destabilise the opposition.
Morka said the president and the ruling party were fully
focused on governance and have no idle time to meddle in what he described as
broken opposition parties.
Recall that the former House of Representatives
Speaker had during a television interview accused Tinubu and the APC of
plotting to undermine opposition parties ahead of the 2027 elections, while
vowing to join forces with others to defeat them.
However, Morka said Tambuwal and other opposition leaders
had failed to provide evidence for their claims, accusing them of political
blackmail and obsession with power.
“With nothing of value to offer Nigerians, these opposition
elements have now turned political prophets trumpeting their base wishes and
2027 predictions that only truly portend the devastating defeat that awaits
them at the voting thumbs of the good Nigerian electorate,” Morka stated.
According to him, opposition leaders like Tambuwal, Atiku
Abubakar, Nasir El-Rufai, Peter Obi and Rotimi Amaechi had failed to provide
effective leadership for their parties, which he described as rudderless and
weakened by internal contradictions.
