Soludo inaugurates 489-member campaign council for re-election bid

Chukwuma Soludo, governor of Anambra, has inaugurated a 489-member campaign council of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) ahead of the state’s governorship election scheduled for November 8.

Soludo, who was sworn in as Anambra governor in 2022, is seeking re-election on the APGA platform.

Speaking at the event, the governor commended the members for accepting to serve and for their long-standing contributions to the growth of the party.

“This is a campaign council made up of 489 members. I appreciate all of you for accepting to serve in this capacity,” he said.

“I pay tribute to all of you who have contributed to building this party, strengthening it up till today, and particularly those who have been there from the very beginning.

“It’s a great privilege to inaugurate this APGA 2025 governorship election campaign council in Anambra state.”

On Friday, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) released the final register of voters for the state.

Sam Olumekun, INEC’s national commissioner and chairman of the information and voter education committee, said the state now has 2,802,790 eligible voters in its register.

The commissioner said Idemili north has the highest number of voters with 246,318 (8.79 percent), followed by Awka south with 216,611 (7.73 percent), and Ogbaru with 188,016 (6.71 percent).
